What Happens in a Walk4Water?

A Walk4Water experience typically includes:
- a guided walk or physical activity that represents the journey many children take each day for water

- storytelling and learning activities that connect students to ACTS’ clean water work in Uganda

- reflection and discussion to help students process what they’ve learned

- an optional fundraising component that turns empathy into action

A Global Issue, Made Local

You already have a lot on your plate as an educator.

Walk4Water brings a global issue into a practical, local learning experience that fits within your school setting and timetable.

The program can be adapted for:
- classroom-based learning
- outdoor walks or school grounds
- small group or whole-school participation

We work with you to design an experience that aligns with your students’ ages, abilities, and learning goals.

“The Walk4Water was invaluable for my class. It was such a practical way to weave real-world learning into Socials, Science, Health, and PE.”

- Julie, Grade 3–5 Teacher

Turning Learning into Action

Walk4Water also gives students the opportunity to take meaningful action.

ACTS supports your class or school with:
- a custom fundraising page with a realistic goal

- a simple online toolkit to help students engage families and friends

- clear examples of how their efforts support children and schools in Uganda

A common approach is a $2-a-month pledge for one year, which can help provide a child in Uganda with clean water throughout their school life.

“Walk4Water helped my students understand water poverty and see themselves as part of the solution.”

- Jackie, Grade 7 Teacher
